After the renovation the Sokos Hotel Villa was transformed to a ‘hip’ business hotel. Sokos Hotel Villa once an old granary building, Tampere Tullintori, has been completely transformed with new facilities and it has been open since July 2011.

 

Only the building shell of the old granary will be conserved. Despite some design changes, the project did finish on schedule. Initially, the plan was to renovate the building floor by floor; however, due to building services demands, it was decided to close down the whole building in November.

 

As a small local detail, the woolen covers in the rooms were hand-made locally by senior women’s society called Mummon kammari.
